Ripper of a trading day to end the week/month. Was all over CSL, there was clearly some profit taking - perhaps due to the end of the month (only just realised that part) either way, i've been watching the stock like a hawk these past 2 weeks and have a really good feel for it's direction.. i almost consider us 1, whole, complete.

More good news for all my good news loving friends... the US is severely fucked.

Bit of a nothing day mkt wise, still rallying, somehow. 73-74 bear mkt, 6 rallies of 7% and 2 rallies of 10%, see Gary Smith - How i trade for a living. Reality is i haven't been living/breathing the markets like i was late last year... i've been soft as hell these past 4 months. In a cave with the recession and negativity nibbling feebly on my brain. Every test is just an opportunity to move forward or stay where you are, or worst case go backwards. I've gone backwards all of 08 and treaded water these first few months of 09, shit it's already March.

Soft, i should of been short NCM, i should of stayed short OST and i should of shorted MCC today. Shoulda/Coulda/Woulda - DIDNT. FAIL. I ranted about useless fucks on here recently and i'm slowly joining there crew of nothingness going nowhere. O K perhaps i'm being a little hard on myself, but standards have to improve.

Spent a nice evening with Marianas parents last night hence my lack of fb exposure, too much red wine and food - but had a blast. Tonight did more preparation for the BRW on Sunday with a 12km ride and 4km run followed by a large pizza and a greek salad - food of champions.

More politics - yes bub i love politics..

Check out Mr. Paul being cut off by the house after bringing up exactly the topic we should all be considering.. how on earth the US is going to pay back its debt?!, the same way it did last century. WAR - LINK

OH YEAH WE GONNA SPEND YOUR MONEY!!! HAHAHA LINK

I also got shat on by a bird today, felt very lucky indeed! Onto Friday weeee

Today just disappeared, well in honesty i spent most of the day watching a clients daily profit fluctuate between $6000 and $7000 and another client pull himself once again from the brink with a profit. (flukey little fuck i hope you are reading this, and yes you know i only want the best for you, that means don't blow your entire load on one position)

Steel stocks are fucked, i'm holding steel stocks short overnight (even though i think the mkt could rally tonight) because the sentiment/charts are just that bad.

I watched the 730 report for the first time in awhile tonight and Kerry was sure swinging his bat at Turnbull, with, as usual not much response. The show goes on, but unlike the masses who feel involved in that shit, the reality is, THEY DONT GIVE A FUCK ABOUT YOU OR ME, and whatever they're discussing will ultimately be done if they say its being discussed so what's the point in caring.

I also watched one of those round table things on SBS with Robert Shiller from Yale (yes the dude who helped develop the CaseShiller home price index), fuck me never seen a more useless academic in my entire life, political as ever too - skirted around questions and praised people who fucked the entire world up.

$21 billion, that's hot much ppl in the US spent watching stocks go up & down.... read more LINK

Syrup of Ipecac, i'm in the market for some. What's it used for? Inducing project vomiting on enemies. Anyone know where i can find this stuff? If not i'm also in the mkt for dried root of thorny shrub (apparently hard to find in australia), bit of this in your enemies coffee should have them making quite a mess on those nice office chairs within 6 minutes.

David Icke is coming to Melbourne - i'll be heading along to his talk, and you can grab tickets LINK
Personally i don't know much about him and have only recently discovered some of his material, but his main topics of interest are the Illuminati and the royal blood lines. (currently working through his Matrix DVD)

Oh by the way drug money is supporting the banks... LINK

Replace Archer with Trader...

When an archer is shooting for nothing
He has all his skill.
If he shoots for a brass buckle
He is already nervous.
If he shoots for a prize of gold
He goes blind
Or sees two targets--
He is out of his mind!
His skill has not changed, but the prize
Divides him. He cares.
He thinks more of winning
Than of shooting--
And the need to win
Drains him of power.

Few interesting paragraphs coming into the holiday season!

Gary Smith - How I Trade For A Living

Chapter 11— Monthly Seasonality

According to research by Norman Fosback and Arthur Merrill the stock market has a definite bullish bias during the last trading day and first four trading days of each month. This bias is also evident during the two days preceding any market holiday. These would include Good Friday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Christmas, New Year's, and President's Day. Since Martin Luther King Day is now a trading holiday, the favorable seasonality would have to be incorporated there also.

Monthly seasonality also explains the fabled year-end rally. Here's another mind-blowing statistic. According to Fosback, the 1 1/2-month year-end period starting two days before Thanksgiving and ending with the fifth trading day in January has accounted for 40 percent of the stock market's entire price return over the past 70 years. The month-end and preholiday trading days graded favorable by the seasonality system within this 1 1/2-month interval have accounted for 45 percent of the market's entire price return over that 70-year time period.

I have been involved in the markets the best part of 3 years and actively traded throughout the commodity bull market of 06/07 and the bear market of 08. Although 3 years may seem like a drop in the ocean to some people, the experience gained from actively participating & succeeding in some of the most volatile markets ever known to man, gives me immense faith in my trading ability.

I trade Contracts for Difference and Margin Foreign Exchange. With a particular focus on risk/capital management & technical analysis.

The purpose of this blog is to share my experiences so that you may hopefully learn that the only real risk in life is staying where you are now!

This is my blog.. A traders life
